Find Those Inner Blocks

There may be a certain amount of skepticism about this article — and I agree that it may seem a little bit “far out”. However, I have done quite a bit of research about this, so I felt that it deserved being offered here. You can decide for yourselves whether there is any merit to it for you.

One of the things that I definitely believe is true is that our bodies are living vehicles for our spirits, and as such, we need to take good care of them — and we need to listen to them — they deserve it. I’ve written before about how we can focus our mental and spiritual energy on our health by staying positive in what we believe about ourselves. However, it can happen that we may run into times when we experience “blocks” to the flow of this positive energy. Something is getting in the way.

I read some information about this where it is suggested that we can do “body scans” on ourselves so that we can sense these “blocks” and open them up.

Here’s how …

Begin by lying in a comfortable position and taking three deep cleansing breaths. Imagine, if you will, a sunbeam entering the top of your head. Feel the light of this sunbeam slowly scanning each part of your internal body. Allow it to scan every cell in your body — remember to keep breathing. Every time you exhale, blow out any negative energy you may feel.

Take notice of any changes in your body. Sensations may vary from person to person. You may feel a shift in body temperature, or see a color or flash of light, or hear a voice offering you guidance. If you feel a block in a certain area of your body, sit with that block and feel into it. Ask your body why that block is there and what you need to do to release it. Try not to judge or analyze the wisdom that comes to you. Often, we experience energy blocks in our body because our body is trying to tell us something, and this is the body’s way of letting us know. You may want to breathe into that area until you feel the block dissolving. When you have finished your scan, take one last deep breath and exhale any energetic residue that you are ready to release.

The body doesn’t lie, and it is constantly communicating its wisdom to us. Any injuries or blocks that exist in our bodies are there so that we can learn from having them in our bodies. An existing injury can teach us to slow down or help us recognize that something is out of balance in our bodies. The more you scan your body, the better you will become at it. If you sense that something is not right in your body, you may want to visit your doctor and tell them about your concerns.

The thoughts in this article are designed to encourage you to pay attention to yourself and listen to the wisdom of your body.

Make Your Dreams Come True

Oct 20, 2006 @ 10:11 am by Ron

“Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination.”
~~~ Fitzhugh Dodson
“Life’s up and downs provide windows of opportunity to determine your values and goals. Think of using all obstacles as stepping stones to build the life you want.”
~~~ Marsha Sinetar

Every time we feel a strong desire for something — something that we truly want to strive for — that desire acts like a fuel to propel us toward a new horizon.

So often we become stuck in achieving our goals and dreams only because we’re not sure what our next move should be. Even if we only take the smallest steps toward achieving our ambitions, it is vital that we actively pursue our goals rather than just daydreaming about them. After all, a goal is a dream — it’s a dream for which we’re willing to put forth the effort to turn it into a reality. When we make the effort and take the time to set goals, it’s our responsibility to do the work to arrive at our destination.

One of the difficulties that so often happens when we create goals for ourselves is that we make the goals unrealistic and unattainable. It’s important to make our goals clear and quantifiable, but they also need to be conceivable, tangible, and measurable. If you cannot visualize your goal in great detail or believe that you can realize them, you may find it difficult to commit to your goals and take the necessary steps to achieve them.

Make sure that your goals have the potential to be emotionally satisfying. You may even want to write them down. Putting your goals into words can keep your intention fresh in your mind and remind you of your purpose. As you make progress toward realizing your goals, give yourself a reward each time you take a step forward so that you have the incentive to keep going. If you find yourself stuck, examine ways in which you can revise your strategy so that your plan can work.

When you create goals you are also creating your future — you’re delineating your destiny. Choose your goals by following your dreams. Use both your head and your heart in making your plans. Everytime you achieve a goal you are evidencing your power to grant your own wishes.

Meditation and Awareness

Oct 18, 2006 @ 01:06 pm by Ron

“Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom. ”
~~~ Buddha
“Through meditation and by giving full attention to one thing at a time, we can learn to direct attention where we choose.”
~~~ Eknath Easwaran

As someone who has been practicing a buddhist lifestyle for several years, it is important for me to also practice meditating each day. This is something that I would highly recommend to anyone who needs to find a higher level of peace and tranquility in their lives.

When thinking of Buddhism or buddhists, it is not uncommon to also think of the word “yogi”. The word “yogi” means “to realize the wisdom of pure awareness.” To do this, the yogis of Tibet practice Tibetan Buddhist meditation techniques. They have gained a level of mastery that makes it possible for them to practice in isolation for periods of one to three years. During this time, they focus their complete attention on connecting with spirit and gain an extraordinary level of control over their minds and bodies.

No, don’t close this blog yet — I’m not recommending that you go into a cave somewhere and focus on one activity for a few years. What I am talking about in this article is that some of the principles that the yogis of Tibet practice can also apply to our lives.

It’s not outside the realm of reality for us to make it a priority to connect with spirit. Merely taking a few moments each day to focus our attention inward can open up a surprisingly fresh look at who we are and what we are about. The yogis don’t just study the practice of meditation or other spiritual disciplines, they also study science, philosophy, the arts, and medicine. If we want to expand our view of the world we could also make the effort to learn more about these aspects of life.

Another way that we could learn from the yogis is to learn to focus our minds on positive thoughts — thoughts that affirm the health of our Earth and the other occupants of our planet. Yogis chant prayers for the well-being of the world even while doing tasks that don’t require their full concentration. It is through chanting, positive thoughts, and meditation that we learn to have compassion, feel empathy, and look for the good in people and in every situation. We also become aware of our ability to create change in the world with our thoughts, actions, and intentions.

I recently read that the yogis of Tibet have been called “supreme artists of life” for their ability to treat every situation like a spiritual endeavor. Wouldn’t it be a worthwhile endeavor to emulate this way of thinking? We are certainly capable of expressing the same art of patience, compassion, and peace in our lives that the yogis do. Once we begin to do this we will see that we do radiate tranquility, warmth and joy — not at all unlike the yogis of Tibet.

To take a few moments each day for meditation is a good thing.

“I have read through your Manifesting Vibration manual already and I must say of all the other material I have read on the same subject, yours is absolutely the most clear, free flowing, concise, and very informal “how to” product I’ve read!!! By just reading and taking notes of the various “choices” of exercise to implement on a daily basis, has made me very excited. I feel like I can do this, stick to it, and enjoy it! If you guys have anything else to share with the world please do!” ~Pamela Boney, Brooklyn, N.Y.
