Are You Getting Older?
“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life. It goes on.”~~~ Robert Frost
I‘m still going to leave the short video I made about the Spiritual Cinema Circle — CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD, as a part of this blog for this weekend, and then I’ll take it down. I’m continuing to leave it there because I truly believe that it’s something every person — every family — should have in their lives. Also, since the people who become members of the circle during this month (February, 2007) are getting such a fantastic deal, I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t keep the video here as a reminder. Plus, some of you may be reading this for the first time — so it’s for you, as well as for those who have been a part of my “blog family” for some time. I’ll take the video down in a few days, but I’m hoping more of you will grab it this month — it’s such a great deal!
So click the “Play” button — enjoy the video — and then be sure to come back and read today’s article.

I also want to be sure that you have a chance to get your own copy of “The Secret”, the amazing DVD that everyone is talking about. Millions of people are learning about it and you should count yourselves among them.
Also, take a look at the comment by Rita Jimenez on my posting, “You Are Special” on Monday, 2/19/07. She has a given us a great link to an amazing free online course being taught by many of the same people who appeared in “The Secret”. Check it out! I signed up for it!
(If you would like to get your own copy of the DVD “The Secret”, you can get it by going here:

You can also order “The Secret” from the Spiritual Cinema Circle. Watch the video above and click the link to become a member. You’ll see this amazing film is available from them as well.)
The primary theme behind “The Secret” is the “Law of Attraction”. This law basically says that what we think about or desire — what we believe — what our feelings are about whatever we’re desiring — and what sort of action we take concerning those desires — will determine what we will attract into our lives. Learning how to apply the “Law of Attraction” is “The Secret”.

Thanks for letting me mention these important and life-changing items to you.
Today’s article is called “Are You Getting Older?”
If you watch any TV — or if you read magazines — or if you read the ads in newspapers, you can see that our culture tends to associate youth with beauty. I need to say, that as a person who is getting older, I disagree with that — I feel that beauty is present in everything and every person, regardless of age. One example of this from nature is the deciduous tree. No matter which stage you look at it during its yearly life-cycle, it has great beauty. From its bright, brilliant new growth in the spring — to its full leafy green in the summer — to it’s gorgeous burst of color in the fall — to its naked skeleton in the winter — it is always beautiful.
“Will you still need me,will you still feed me..When I’m sixty-four?”~~~ Paul McCartney
And so are we humans — we are beautiful throughout our lifespans. When we start our lives we’re absorbed with learning and new experiences. As we move on through the world, we’re like sponges absorbing the thoughts, ideas, and teachings of others as well as the lessons of our own experiences. While we’re in this early part of our lives, our youth, our physical strength, our tirelessness all add to our beauty and lead us to new adventures. Gradually, we begin to use the information we have gathered to form ideas and opinions of our own. As we cultivate our philosophy about life, our beauty becomes as much about what we are saying, doing, and creating as it is about our appearance. Like a tree in summer, we become full, expressive, beautiful, and productive.
“Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death”~~~ Albert Einstein
Then one day, we reach the autumn of our lives. Like the deciduous tree that begins to drop the colorful leaves from its limbs, we begin to release our past attachments and let go of some of the creations of our middle lives. We begin the preparation for a new phase in our growth. Our children grow up and move into the next phase of their own lives and become independent. Our careers may change. Our physical bodies begin to take on a new beauty. Our faces may have a few more lines — our hair may be changing color (or disappearing!) — our ability to maintain the same vigorous pace of life may slow down a bit — all of which only brings out the glow of our new and more lasting beauty.
Someday our winter will come. All of the outer trappings that were so apparent become less obvious and are replaced by a new radiance that shines from within us. People can see it in our eyes — they now see an inner beauty that comes from the very core of our being — it is our essence — it is the clarity of who we truly are. We are now displaying a beauty that can only be seen after one has spent many years on the planet. We saw it in the eyes of our elders while we were young — just as those younger than us will see it in us as we age.
“Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.”~~~ Douglas MacArthur
I’d like to once again, repeat these words that are meant just for you …
You are the most precious gift you can give yourself. Every day look in the mirror and say, “I’m available to more good than I have experienced, realized or imagined ever before in my life!” Do this every day while you look into your own eyes.
You are special — and you are loved. You are the greatest gift you can be.
Shanti … (A sanscrit word meaning, “Let there be Peace. Peace, beautiful Peace. Peace within, Peace without. Peace in this world. Peace for all beings.”)
~~~ DBL-R
