Life Can Be Scary

“You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn’t exist anywhere except
in the mind.”

~~~~ Dale Carnegie
Life can be scary, can’t it? This trip called “life” is a lot like a roller coaster ride. There are ups and downs, twists and turns, highs and lows. Some of it is fun and exciting — and some of it is downright scary.
The important thing to remember is that you are not alone in your experiences. No matter how brave, strong, or levelheaded we are, there are times when we all get scared.
No matter what the cause — it might be that we’re not feeling well, or we may be in a job that’s hazardous, or perhaps we must live in difficult circumstances. Maybe we’re having some money problems. Maybe someone we love is ill — or we’re nervous about starting a new job — or moving to a new town — or meeting new people. Whatever our fears, they are valid, and we do not need to feel ashamed or embarrassed that we are, at times, afraid.
One thing is for sure — everyone gets scared at one time or another — and that’s okay — it’s not out of the ordinary. It helps a lot to be able to admit that to ourselves. It’s not a sign of weakness to admit that life can be scary at times — in fact — it’s a sign of strength. Give yourself permission to be scared if the situation warrants it.
Finally, don’t hesitate to share your fears with others. If you tell someone about it your fear may seem less overwhelming — plus you’re getting it out in the open and you’re not letting it grow inside you.
Just remember that you are never alone.
