One Step At a Time

Success on any major scale requires you to take action.
It’s up to you to choose the thoughts and actions that will lead you to success.

Do you have any problems?

If you answered, “No!”, then you need to be writing a blog article about how you manage that.

You probably answered, “Yes!” — and — if you did, I have another question to ask ….

… Are any of those problems so huge that you doubt your ability to solve them?

I don’t know about you, but I get those kind of problems every so often — and like most people who do — I tend to feel a bit of panic when that happens.

There is an interesting thing, though that has helped me to deal with these seemingly insolvable problems. (Keep in mind that I’m talking about business and other general life problems, not serious medical issues.)

The interesting thing I’ve learned is that a year or so after these “awful” problems arise, they are mostly forgotten and no longer exist. Once you’ve dealt with the problem, it isn’t worth another thought.

One good way to deal with problems like these is to break them down into their smallest components so that you can sort them out.

It will take a bit of panic, though, before you can get to the “breaking down” action. Your first reaction will be to look at the whole problem and see only the worst possible outcome — it will look like disaster is the only possible outcome.

When we do let our thoughts go in that direction the chances are that the worst may happen because we have paralyzed our brains from the ability to successfully use sound reasoning

However, if we take the problem and break it down into small, easily solved actions, we will reach good results on each of those actions until the entire problem is solved. It’s like working on a picture puzzle — in order to see the whole picture you have to solve how each of the pieces goes together, one small piece at a time.

Working on those “insolvable” problems in this way gets you moving towards a solution to each of the small parts of the big problem. Plus, once you see how well this can work for you, you’ll remember it when the next huge problem comes along and avoid the initial panic stage altogether.

Just think about the picture puzzle — one piece at a time.

With the problem it’s the same thing — one step at a time.
