If you’ve been keeping up with the last few articles here at Ron’s Esoteric Thoughts, then you know we’re talking about “The Secret”. You also know that there is more to making “The Secret” work for you than just sitting on your butt and wishing for something to manifest in your life. The first principle is to focus your mind on what it is you want to manifest — the second principle is to take action — to follow the clues as to what you need to do to help this manifestation along.

When the focus is sharp — when it’s clear to your mind and to the universe what it is you desire — then the light bulb goes on and the ideas begin to show up on how to get what you want. Resources will begin to come into your life. You’ll begin to see the path to reaching your goals. This is when it really starts to get exciting. Your level of motivation will jump up by leaps and bounds. You’ll find you have more courage — it will be easier for you to persist in carrying out the actions needed — you’ll be more disciplined and less likely to procrastinate. Let’s face it, you’ll be enthused about this new venture.

The most exciting thing for me when I get to this step in the process is how positive I feel. I really feel good — I can’t wait to get at it. I also find that I seem to develop new qualities that I never knew I had. This is what it feels like when you’re taking the actions necessary to make “The Secret” work the way it should.

This is also the point in the process where you need to be careful and not let your focus begin to slip away. If you want to maintain that positive energy you must keep the dream alive and foremost in your mind. You need to keep those clues coming — you need to be working on those actions. So many times, people will fall away at this point — sometimes because they just get lazy — but more often it’s because they lost the razor-sharp focus.

Don’t be afraid to ask the universe — your higher power — God — “What do I need to do to make this happen?” This is especially true if the ideas don’t seem to be making themselves known. The ideas aren’t showing up because your focus isn’t zeroed in the way it needs to be. Asking this type of question will bring it back up to where it belongs.

Is this going to seem harder for some than it is for others? Well, for one thing, waiting for a miracle will be really easy to do — just don’t do anything but hope for the sky to open up and have your desire fall into your lap. Is that likely to happen? Not by a long shot. I’ve been reading some articles lately that still seem to promote this as the way to make The Secret work. I have to disagree. Everyone I know that is truly successful got that way because they took the necessary action steps to make it happen for them. And, in most cases, the action they took was of value, not only to them, but to the world around them. Laziness won’t do the job — it will take work on your part — but you’ll feel great while your doing the work.

One quick example of this in my own life. I’ve been looking at building some business by finding good small niches — and finding good valuable products that fit into those niches for me to promote. (I’m promoting a few of them right here in my blog — read to the end of the posting and look on the sidebars and you’ll see them.) I focused on this as a goal to help me monetize this site a little more than it was originally. I knew I was putting out a good product here — and I knew that the action I was taking — writing these articles — was of value to whoever was taking the time to read them. It was also of value to me to do the research and the study necessary.

But it went a step further — not only did I need to give value in my writing — but also, if I was going to promote any products here — they too, had to have value — and if they weren’t my own products, the people creating them had to be giving value.

Do you see?

That leads us into the third principle of “The Secret” — taking actions that give value. We’ll make that our focus for next time.
